Intermountain released sometime ago a nice spent grain brewery service boxcar with roof hatches. Not something that fits well into my New England scene but I purchased one anyhow. I gave the car a flat finish and very light weathering. I wanted the car to look pretty new.
Trucks are AK winter steaking grime and the roof Anita's acrylic charcoal wash followed by PanPastel raw umber shade, then white and Paynes grey extra dark on the roof edges.
The side panels are faded using PanPastel blender and some steaking with raw umber shade. Using PanPastels one can weather a car in less than an hour and I feel this car blends into my fleet very well if a number of cars are done with PanPastel...George Dutka
The roof gets a wash of grey. |
The tones of PanPastels I used on this model. |
