Throwback Thursday - GO Equipment in the Canadian Shield.

GO 531 is pulling the southbound "Huckleberry Express" towards Havelock on July 19, 1997.  The train is headed through the rock cut at mile post 10 of CP's Nephton Subdivision.

The scenery you see around GO 531 is definitely not typical of the urban sprawl though which it would usually operate.  Rock cuts, swamps, and heavy forests are, however, the standard backdrop of CP's Nephton Subdivision which is where this short train was providing "rare mileage" rides over the weekend of July 19/20, 1997.  Dubbed the "Huckleberry Express" for this occasion, Havelock - Blue Mountain round trips were on offer as part of that weekend's "Rock 'N Rail" Festival in the area of Havelock, Ontario.
