HOMES Layout Tour - Hamilton, Ont. Area

The HOMES club TH&B layout which is housed in an old school.
Yesterday Don Janes and I took in the HOMES 16th annual layout tour. We took in this tour four years ago and had such a great time we decided to do it once again. This time around we found some new layout that we thought are over the top. There is some really great modeling going on in that area. Here are a few teaser photos from what we saw. I hope to group some of Don's and mine photos together for a better look at a few of the layouts...George Dutka

Lex Parker's On3" layout is a must see. We had visited Lex's layout last time around with a layout post feature by Don back in Nov. 2012.

We are in Northern Ontario and visiting the Algoma Central & CP built by Bob Mitchell. His 1950's layout set in the 1950's features 167' of main line between White River and Terrace Bay. The layout as one can see in the photo is very realistic and features a lot one would see in such places as Franz, Ontario.

Steve Tuff Burlington Jct. layout, a 41' shelf layout located in central Ohio is really coming along nicely. He has some nice scenery completed and really neat looking signals.  Steve also runs Burlington Junction Hobbies from home and at the shows. He got a few bucks out of us also.

Over at Steve's dad place, Ron Tuff models BC Rail on a double deck layout. His modeling is first class. Here we have Don and Ron chatting it up.

Over in Beamsville, Ont. Jim Ellis has a nicely detailed freelanced Southern Ontario layout. Smooth running brass engines through some neat locations such at Owen Sound. On the  train above Jim has some really nice looking piggy back trailer. This one caught my eye as Husband Transport became part of CN and my uncle worked for them. Jim dug up an extra set of decals for me that will be put to use shortly. Thanks Jim.
