A scene modeled on the NEB&W to the east of the Chatham, NY station |
John Nehrich posted some views of the Chatham, NY area which was once the southern terminal of the Rutland Ry. This is scene was once on the NEB&W. John posted this on the NEB&W Facebook page. Don Janes I had been to Chatham twice, once for a RRHS convention back in the late 1990s and again on our way home after a NERPM meet on June 1, 2014. It is a very pretty town with some very neat structures. The old B&A line is still in use and on our last visit we just missed catching a train passing the station.
John Nehrich had been posting regularly on the NEB&W Facebook site but has now begun his own historical site that he is focusing his energy on. I find his new site quite interesting. It covers what once was the NEB&W layout and his current modeling topics. John is currently not involved with the NEB&W...I hope this does not affect the rebuilding of the layout...George Dutka

The block the NEB&W modeled is seen in this prototype photo just beyond the ex-NYC station. June 1, 2014. |

A track side view. |

Another angle of this scene on the NEB&W. I really like the looks of the track side view of this block. |
I've always found the NEB&W fascinating but the scale of it would have defeated me a long time ago. So many buildings, albeit so faithfully rendered. John's situation must be very destabilizing for him.
