Here is an interesting view I have never seen before. It is of the CV ash pit at Brattleboro. Note the lettering on the CV hoppers...one looks newer while the other is almost weathered off. Edward Ozog took this photo back in the 1950's along with many more and has been nice enough to share them with us through various sites. When I contacted Edward he put me onto a lot more photos...more on this shortly...George Dutka
So do you have an opinion on whether these cars were black or mineral red?

DeleteThese cars would be mineral red by that time as the rebuilds during the 1940's had a colour change from black...probably if a car escaped rebuild it might be still black in the late 1940's or early 1950's...George
