Walker’s Siding connected CN London East Yard to the small group of tracks located across from London Depot referred to as Charlie Yard. Connections to the mainline existed at both ends. At its approximate midpoint a junction switch connected the siding to the Talbot Subdivision which headed south towards St Thomas. This junction was known as CN Walton. By the time today’s photo was snapped in the early 2000s the western portion of the siding had been removed. The junction turnout was removed and the trackage flowed seamlessly into what became known as the Talbot Spur. Only the sign remained as a reminder of this earlier junction point.
I like the post. Presumably it was a crossing post that got re-purposed.
