Burlington Northern Santa Fe SD75M BNSF 8259 was built by GMDD London in January of 1996. Note the Santa Fe emblem on the nose and the large BNSF along the hood. Renumbered BNSF 259 and repainted orange/green, the big DC unit appears to have been taken out of service in 2020. Seemingly, merger partner Burlington Northern was wise to adopt AC propulsion early as cousin SD70MAC BNSF 9570, constructed simultaneously, appears to still be active.
