Via LRC locomotive number 6905 leads its train of Tempo coaches away from London, Ontario back in 1984. |
The
green bridge visible in this view is the same one that appears in the
background of Don McQueen's photo in the May 20/21 post "Hyde Park
Revisited." In today's 1984-vintage shot, progress is being made on the
concrete two lane bridge which will replace it. Since that time, the
bridge has been twinned, turning Hyde Park Road in London into a four
lane thoroughfare. CN no longer refers to this location as Hyde Park -
it is merely mile four of the Strathroy Subdivision.
It
is the equipment, however, that is the real draw in today's photo.
With Via LRC locomotive 6905 pulling a full train of Tempo coaches, the
entire consist could be drawn from the pages of a Rapido Trains HO scale
catalogue.
