Prototype Corner - CP TEC Train

Over the last couple of decades CP has operated TEC trains in several different iterations.  Each such train has consisted of a generator car, a passenger car, and, bringing up the rear, the actual Track Evaluation Car (TEC).  Two of the earlier track evaluation cars have been featured in earlier posts, specifically those of April 09, 2020 and July 14, 2022.  Today we will look at the components of the most recent TEC train as photographed by John Allen on April 20, 2022 near the east siding switch of Longwood on the Windsor Subdivision. 

 

CP 94 was the first car in the consist.

CP 93, the generator car, was in the middle of the train.

The actual Track Evaluation car brought up the rear.

Here we get a good view of the observation area of the Track Evaluation Car.
