Area Layout Visit - Wilf Rhyness

Wilf's fleet of ore cars and woodchip cars. The woodchip cars he built using Front Range cars with removable roof similar to what Peter and I did back in the 1980's.

Our model railroad group had our monthly get together on Wednesday. This time it was at Wilf Rhyness home in St. Thomas. Our group is getting smaller as we had two long time members pass away this year. Wilf models in a few gauges with the smallest in the palm of his hand, and yes that gauge does operate. A number of years ago Wilf along with his friend Rick jointly built over 20 each Sylvan ore cars. Think Wilf built 24 cars. A real feat. He did buy one of the Rapido cars to display in a case along with one of the Sylvan models he built. Oh and Wilf models the ONR...George Dutka
