Pennsylvania 40' Boxcar

A Pennsylvania boxcar I think in St. Thomas, Ont. There is no details about it other than from the Bob Bowes collection. Don McQueen scanned most of his collection about a year ago.

  1. This is a PRR X28a boxcar with steam pipes for passenger express service. The Adams Express lettering would come from the era before 1918, since Adams Express, with Wells Fargo and others, was consolidated into the Railway Express Agency by the US Railroad Administration during World War I. However, the condition of the paint suggests this is sometime in the 1920s. Very intriguing shot.
