| Sarnia, Ontario shop track Jan. 1989. |
You might want to check yesterdays post once again. I added a correction thanks to Jim Dufour and also a bit more about the trestle from a past Railpace. I also found a Facebook comment on line that the trail to the bridge is now closed, but could not confirm that.
Back in 1989 I was working way freight 511 which on a January day ran all the way to Sarnia before returning to London, Ont. We would normally turn at our last stop west out of London, We had pulled down to the west end of the yard near the shop. I noticed a CV geep on the shop track. No camera on hand and could not actually see which engine it was. I made a return trip to Sarnia once done work. When I stopped to get my camera at home I also got a load of kids wanting to go for the ride. So the whole gang went. I could drive beside the engine to get my shot which was on an overcast day and getting near the point of low light. But I got my shot and kids got some treats before we headed for home. No idea why the engine was in town but neat to see...George Dutka
