USMRR Aquia Line - NERPM Clinic and Display

A beautiful looking civil war era engine in O scale.
Bernard Kempinski presented a very nice clinic on his layout and railroading history during the civil war era. I have always had an interest in the civil war and found his clinic very informing. I had visited Bernie and his layout about 9 years ago, so it was interesting to see what he has been up to. A link to his blog is found in the sidebar. Bernie also brought along some of his civil war models. His research and detailing is over the top. His company Alkem Scale Models has a few new products out which were also on display. Chain link fence in two scales...something you might want to check out on his website...George Dutka

Bernie's collection of civil war railroad equipment on display. Note the new offerings coming from his Alkem Scale Models. Chain link fences in two scales.

The interior of the caboose includes a pencil on the desk. When is the last time you saw a pillow modeled on a bunk bed.

The coach seats are laser cut by Bernie.

This flat car has very realistic looking bails of hay. The hand brake actually works keeping the car in place during operations on the layout.
