Paint Tips - Waterloo Region Model Railway Club

A lot of the clubs painting is done with Mission Models acrylic paints which I was told is available at most artists shops.
While on the Doubleheaders layout tour I questioned the guys at the Waterloo Region Model Railway Club about the paints they like using. The members had a variety of paints they like using. Two types seem to be the go-to's for the painter in the group...George Dutka

Ferrari red is their favourite paint for CP action red. It is a Vallejo paint.
The clubs paint booth is built into one end of the layout. It is near the entrance and lounge area. It is a tight space but seems to work well for the group. I noted a good size vent hood but am not sure how it is vented to outside as it is against an interior wall.

  1. To clear up the venting question, the spray booth vents outside the the front of our Quonset hut. The duct work runs overhead of the front office through the ceiling. By the way, thanks for stopping in during the Doubleheaders tour, it was great to chat with you.
