Chicago and North Western Line - 1943

  1. The X on the boxcar door suggests they are taken by Jack Delano for the US Office of War Information, I'm pretty sure at Clearing Yard. Delano was a very talented guy, who gave up photography for music composing.

  3. Yeah, that looks like Delano. I think he was based out of Chicago, most of the pics I've seen were taken there.

  6. Delano was probably better known for his pioneering use of colour.
